ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the effects of two kinds of indwelling needles with different materials on catheterization related complications and comfort of patients undergoing cerebral angiography. Methods:A total of 120 patients who were hospitalized in Neurology Department of Qinhuangdao First Hospital and were given venous indwelling needles for intravenous infusion from July 2018 to May 2019 were randomly enrolled. According to admission order, they were numbered and divided into observation group and control group by random number table method, 60 cases in each group. The control group was given common intravenous indwelling needle, while observation group was given indwelling needle of positively pressurized needle-free link-reservation. The differences in catheterization related complications, catheterization time and comfort were compared between the two groups. Results:At 24 h after catheterization, the incidence rates of tube blockage, fluid exudation and phlebitis in observation group were 0, 1.67% (1/60), 0, while 3.33% (2/60), 3.33% (2/60), 3.33% (2/60) in control group, there were no significant differences between the two groups ( χ2 values were 2.037, 0.348, 2.039, P> 0.05). At 48 h after catheterization, the incidence rates of tube blockage, fluid exudation and phlebitis in observation group were 1.67% (1/60), 1.67% (1/60), 1.67% (1/60), while 10.00% (6/60), 8.33% (5/60), 6.67% (4/60) in control group, there were no significant differences between the two groups ( χ2 values were 3.793, 2.814, 1.884, P>0.05). At 72 h after catheterization, the incidence rates of tube blockage, fluid exudation and phlebitis in observation group were all 3.33% (2/60), which were lower than 16.67% (10/60), 15.00% (9/60), 13.33% (8/60) in control group, there were significant differences between the two groups ( χ2 values were 5.934, 4.905, 3.937, P<0.05). At 24, 48 and 72 h after catheterization, liquid flow rates per unit of time before and after tube flashing in observation group were (506.15 ± 66.84), (483.55 ± 36.87), (410.62 ± 41.66) ml/h, which were higher than (474.77 ± 45.71), (417.80 ± 22.14), (310.87 ± 20.96) ml/h in control group ( t values were 3.002, 11.842, 16.568, P<0.05). The comfort score was (8.53 ± 1.41) points in observation group, higher than (7.97 ± 1.23) points in control group, and indwelling time of indwelling needles was (84.45 ± 8.95) h in observation group, longer than (76.97 ± 6.77) h in control group ( t values were 2.318, 5.163, P<0.05). Conclusions:Indwelling needle of positively pressurized needle-free link-reservation can effectively reduce incidence of complications in patients undergoing cerebral angiography, and improve their comfort during catheterization.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the application value of dermoscopy in the diagnosis of genital condyloma acuminatum (CA) in men. Methods A total of 122 warts from 66 male patients with suspected genital CA were firstly diagnosed by experienced dermatologists according to macroscopic morphological characteristics of lesions and clinical history of patients.Afterwards, the warts were examined and diagnosed by dermoscopy, and the two diagnosis results were compared with histopathological findings. Results Of 122 suspected warts,100 were diagnosed as CA by naked-eye examination,112 as CA by dermoscopy and 114 as CA by pathological examination. When histopathological findings served as the gold standard, dermoscopy had a sensitivity of 97.4% and a specificity of 87.5%,and naked-eye examination had a sensitivity of 87.7% and a specificity of 100%.Under dermoscopy, most male genital warts were pink (98/114,86.0%) and papillary (98/114,86.0%),and had distinct vascular characteristics (107/114,95.5%),which mainly included pleomorphic vessels (102/114,89.5%) and punctate vessels (98/114,86.0%).Conclusion CA has characteristic structures under dermoscopy,so dermoscopy can be used for the diagnosis of genital CA in men.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND:Recently, the role of mesenchymal stem cels in aplastic anemia has been widely explored. However, its underlying mechanism remains unclearly. OBJECTIVE: To study the effect of umbilical cord blood and bone marrow mesenchymal stem cels on hematopoietic support and secretory function of T lymphocytes in patients with aplastic anemia. METHODS: Cord blood and bone marrow samples from 48 cases of aplastic anemia and 48 healthy lying-in women to isolate mesenchymal stem cels using flow cytometry. Mesenchymal stem cels from the cord blood and bone marrow were respectively co-cultured with cord blood mononuclear cels to count burst forming units-erythroid and colony forming units-granulocyte/macrophage. Mesenchymal stem cels were co-cultured with T lymphocytes from aplastic anemia patients undergoing phytohemagglutinin stimulation, and ELISA was used to detect interleukin-2, interleukin-4 and interferon-γ levels secreted from T lymphocytes. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The number of burst forming units-erythroid and colony forming units-granulocyte/macrophage significantly increased in normal bone marrow or umbilical cord blood mesenchymal stem cels co-cultured with cord blood mononuclear cels (P < 0.05), but reduced remarkably in umbilical cord blood mesenchymal stem cels from aplastic anemia patients co-cultured with cord blood mononuclear cels (P < 0.05). Levels of interleukin-2, interleukin-4 and interferon-γ from T lymphocytes were inhibited significantly after co-culture with normal bone marrow mesenchymal stem cels compared with phytohemagglutinin-induced T lymphocytes (P < 0.05). There was a similar inhibitory effect after co-culture with normal umbilical cord blood mesenchymal stem cels. There was a significantly reduction in the capacity of inhibiting interleukin-2, interleukin-4 and interferon-γ levels from T lymphocytes after co-culture with bone marrow mesenchymal stem cels from aplastic anemia patients (P < 0.05). Aplastic anemia patients show some functional defects in their bone marrow mesenchymal stem cels that have a weaker inhibitory role than normal bone marrow or umbilical cord blood mesenchymal stem cels in the hematopoietic support and secretory function of T lymphocytes. These findings indicate that mesenchymal stem cels from aplastic anemia patients can influence the pathological progress through weakening hematopoietic support and secretory function of T lymphocytes. ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE To investigate the situation of prevalence for extended spectrum ?-lactamases(ESBLs)genes in multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa(PA). METHODS Antimicrobial susceptibility test was performed by agar dilution method and 7 kinds of ESBLs genes were detected by PCR methods in 35 strains of PA. RESULTS In 35 strains of PA, the positive rates of genes of TEM, OXA, PER and GES were 51.4%, 42.8%, 31.4%, and 22.9%, respectively, and genes of SHV, VEB, and CTX-M-1 were all negative. CONCLUSIONS This study shows that there are high positive rates of TEM, OXA, PER and GES genes in PA in our hospital. The GES genes in PA are first reported in China.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE To examine expression and distribution of fibronectin (FN) in hepatic tissues from patients with hepatitis or cirrhosis, and its correlation with serum hyaluronic acid (HA) contents. METHODS The expression and distribution of FN were detected with immunohistochemical and pathological methods in liver tissues of 66 cases, among which there were 8 cases of normal liver tissues, 58 cases of various types of hepatitis. The levels of HA in patients with liver disease were detected with radioimmunological method. RESULTS Positive cellular rate of FN in hepatocytes and endothelial cells of chronic active hepatitis (CAH) was apparently higher than those in acute hepatitis (AH) group and chrouic persistent hepatitis (CPH) group(P
